Blog Description


A new rosary devotion to Mary's contemplative heart,
derived from the Church's Liturgy of the Hours.
The Florilegium is a scriptural rosary with a verse of scripture for each bead of the rosary,
and a Mystery of the Lord for each day of the week,
and a florilegium of verses for each of the liturgical seasons:
the Florilegium Joyful for Ordinary Time,
the Florilegium Sorrowful for Lent and Advent,
and the Florilegium Glorious for Easter, Christmas, & Feasts.

The Passion of the Lord


Let us ponder in our hearts the mystery of the Lord’s passion
kept in the heart of Mary, Mother of Sorrows. 


First, The Lord's Agony

Mary, we greet thee, 
Mother and Queen all merciful:
our life, our sweetness, and our hope, 
we greet thee! 

To thee we exiles, 
children of Eve, lift our crying;
to thee we send our sighs, 
as mourning and weeping 
 we pass through this valley of tears. 

Therefore we pray, 
be our gracious helper;
look with pity, 
with eyes of loving tenderness, 
 upon us sinners. 

And at the end, 
when this earthly exile shall be over, 
show us 
the blessed fruit of thy womb,
Jesus. 

O loving! 
O gentle! 
O most sweet 
Virgin Mary!




 Vs. Pray for us, O holy Mother of God: 
Rs. That we be made worthy of the promises of Christ. 


The concluding prayer is recited by a leader of prayers: 

Lord holy Father, 
 as thy only begotten Son by his life, death, and resurrection 
 has obtained for us the rewards of eternal life:

that by pondering in our hearts these mysteries that 
his blessed Mother keeps in hers, 
we may imitate what they contain 
and attain what they promise.
